The Marganai massif is among the most fascinating places for those who wish to make contact with the most typical expression of Sardinian vegetation, the holm oak grove. Around 3600 hectares wide, Marganai is entirely covered by a deep forest of holm oaks, in some parts impenetrable even to sun rays, that, in its remotest areas, treasures rare endemic species of great naturalistic and scientific interest. Some of them can be seen at the “Giardino Botanico Linasia”, 9000 square meters wide. The Botanical garden allows visitors to admire specimens hardly observable in nature for both their rarity and their not easily reachable habitat. Linasia can be reached from Iglesias-S. Benedetto or Domusnovas-Grotta S. Giovanni.
